Enter the child's name in the
U.S. pasport check system, obtain court orders granting sole custody and/or
prohibiting the minor child from traveling out of state, report incident to
the National Center for Missing and Exploited children, and file a missing
person's report with the local police department.
To begin a search for a child:Notify the Parent Locator Service, obtain a certified copy of any court order's pertaining to custody or travel with the minor children, contact friends, relatives of the abducting parent, contact the child's last school to see if anyone has requested a transfer of their records, request that the local law enforcement authorities contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service to put a "mail cover" on addresses in the U.S. to which the abductor may write, and request that local law enforcement authorities to assist in obtaining information from telephone and credit card companies. |
