Valerie E. Prescott

Born and raised in Southern California, Valerie E.
Prescott attended the University of California,
Los Angeles where she received a Bachelor of
Science in Kinesiology. Though her degree dictated
a career in medicine, Valerie ultimately decided
to attend law school at Western State University.
While working towards her Juris Doctor degree,
Valerie spent her time outside of school interning
at her Mother's law firm.

Upon graduating and passing the Bar Exam in 1994,
Valerie was asked to become a Partner at the law firm.
In recognition of Valerie's new role, Tonya changed
the name of the firm to Prescott & Prescott. Choosing
to work primarily on Family Law cases, Valerie found
herself committed to the specialty and was awarded
the title of Certified Family Law Specialist by the
California State Board of Legal Specialization in 1998.

Valerie's dedication to Family Law issues prompted her involvement with the Domestic Violence Program sponsored by the Orange County Superior Court. Her volunteer work with the program enables victims of domestic violence to obtain restraining orders against their perpetrators. To help the project gain exposure, Valerie and Tonya co-wrote and article Published in Orange County Lawyer, entitled, "Orange County's Domestic Violence Pilot Project." The article outlines the details of the project and addresses recent noteworthy cases pertaining to domestic violence decisions.

Outside of work, Valerie enjoys spending her free time with her husband and three boys. Whether it be volunteering at her sons' school or acting as team Mom for one of their many sporting events, Valerie treasures the extra time she gets to spend with her kids. Her passion and skill for photographing her children often leads to becoming appointed as team photographer for her sons' various sports teams.
